I’ve been thinking about archetypes in relationships a lot lately, mostly because I’ve been witnessing some interesting dynamics play out with friends and clients.  The thing is, dissension between archetypes in a relationship plays out when somebody (or both somebodies) isn’t taking responsibility for their actions.

I’ve been thinking about the phenomenon of “friends with benefits”.  Young adults are marrying later in life, which should be better for the divorce rate but may not be.  Men and women are shying away from serious emotional commitments, choosing instead to have casual sex with supposedly no strings attached.

Having a Baby Won’t Save Your Marriage

There’s a curious phenomenon that happens in the waning days of a marriage.  I’ve talked with several friends and clients who’ve corroborated my observation.  Women who are unhappy in their marriage fall under the delusion that having a baby, or another baby, will save their marriage. My advice:  cross your legs, ladies!
